A cross made by Tom Kahl that combines two less common Thai species. The really cool thing about this hybrid? It can go fully dormant! Yes that's right, smilesii is one of the few species that produces tuberous roots and can completely die back to just the roots during droughts in the wild. Tom has even documented this over several years with this hybrid and always causes a stir by creating "my Nepenthes is dormant" posts. Very interesting, although I don't recommend forcing dormancy unless you have extra plants because it is quite stressful on them.
